New Southeast Branch Library Meeting – Wednesday, April 30, 2003

We would like to help spread the word about an important meeting regarding the new Southeast Evergreen Branch Library.  The relevance of this issue to parks is that some of the sites being proposed for the new library are currently parks in the Evergreen Community.  If you have any opinion about whether existing park space should be used for the new library site, our councilmember strongly encourages you to attend this meeting.  Please see the following message from Dave Cortese’s office:

Citywide Clean-Up Day – Saturday, May 10, 2003

Friends of Fowler Creek Park plans to participate in the “Great American Pick-Up” sponsored by the City of San Jose on Saturday, May 10, 2003.  We plan to focus on the area around Fowler Creek (naturally) along Cortona Drive across from Chaboya Middle School.  If you’d like to help us, please contact us at info@fcpfriends.org.

The following information about this event was sent out by Dave Cortese’s office:

The Great American Pick-Up is a citywide event for community members to clean their neighborhoods!  Let's use this opportunity to clean up Evergreen!  There will be a free Celebration Lunch for volunteers following the Pick-up event at 11:30 AM. Come meet other community leaders, earn community service hours and help clean up Evergreen!  Equipment is provided but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own pick up stick and gloves.  All youths under 18 need supervision and transportation to get to the clean up sites and the luncheon afterwards.
