Dear Neighbors,
First of all, we want to wish a very Happy New Year
to you and your families!
It has been quite a while since we last reported to
you about Fowler Creek Park. In our last update (Summer 2004), we reported that
Councilmember Cortese sought and received agreement by the City Staff to start project
design for the park immediately.
We're excited to finally have something substantial
to update you on the development of Fowler Creek Park. The latest from Councilmember
Cortese's office is that Phase 1 of the park development is still on schedule (we're still
trying to get clarification on what the project milestones are). A survey of the area is
underway. Using a combination of aerial topographic information and ground work, the
survey information will be compiled and then guided into a design development plan.
UPCOMING
COMMUNITY MEETING!
The City and Councilmember Cortese's office are ready
to meet with the community to review and gain input on preliminary designs for the play
areas and some water areas. They are currently planning a COMMUNITY MEETING in LATE
JANUARY to solicit your input and to provide official updates. When we receive the exact
date, time, and location, we will send out another update.
Please forward this note to your neighbors and ask
them to sign up on our web site. This project is definitely moving forward, and we need to
keep taking the necessary steps towards realizing our dream for a much needed and long
overdue park in our community. We will do our best to keep you updated. Thanks for your
